Gold Hill, Shaftesbury, Dorset

Shaftesbury is a town on the edge of a 700-foot plateau with superb views. This is a couple of picture we took of Gold Hill in Shaftesbury an old cobbled street, along side the walls of King Alfred’s abbey. This was the hill used in the famous Hovis advert with the shop boy riding down on his bike

Each year there is a Gold Hill Fair, a charity event that attracts thousands of visitors from Dorset and beyond
