Hayley Catherine Rose Vivian Mills was born on 18th April 1946 in London. She is the daughter of actor John Mills and actress Mary Hayley Bell. She was trained at the Elmhurst Ballet School. She made her film debut in 1959 at the age of 13 in the film Tiger Bay in which she played the part of a frightened young witness. Her father played the lead in this film. For this part she received an award at the Berlin Film Festival and was signed by Walt Disney on a five-year contract. Her first Disney film was Pollyanna which was made a year later. For this role she was awarded a special academy award. She went on to make more than 20 films over the next 30 years. In which she played a variety of roles.
